Development of ambiguous color distinction technology using imaging sensor

In this research, we develop Color Sensing System using Imaging Devices. This system can distinguish ambiguous colors, pattern, and some surface features of material. For this purpose, we research optical system, measuring environments, light condition, calibration, noise reduction, compensation of non-linear characteristics, and so on. The output of this system is corresponding to international color space such as CIE-Lab. This system can be used on manufacture process in factory for accuracy distinction color products.

Development of nondestructive evaluation technology for spray fused coatings of self-fluxing alloys using magnetization

  Though self-fluxing alloy spraying film is widely utilized for equipment, which require anticorrosion, antifriction etc., it also needs melting treatment of a film when it is produced. The difference of melt state greatly affects the product performance, stability of its quality. In this study, we study on relationship between melting treatment temperature and magnetism of self-fluxing alloy spraying film at first. Next, we develop the quantitative NDE technique based on the result, and high quality self-fluxing alloy spraying product.

Development of human sensor applied to emergency system for elderly people

  We develop a sensor which is able to discriminate human behavior such as walking, standing, sitting and sleeping by image processing. Futhermore, this sensor is provided capavility for monitoring their unusual action. It consequently is applied to emergency systems for elderly people who live by themselves.

 (4) Development and Application of New Materials, and the Effective Use of Local Resources

 

Development of fluorescent-marked bone substrates for evaluating the curing medicines of osteoporosis and arthritis.

To develop osteoclast culture kid suitable for evaluation of the curing medicines of osteoporosis and arthritis, the apatite/collagen composite films with excellent bioabsorption characteristics were prepared using cattle bone-originated apatite and pig-originated collagen by the wet methods. On the composite films, osteoclast was cultivated as one of substituted materials of natural dentin. The amounts of bone substrates that the osteoclast decomposed and absorbed were measured from the fluorescence intensity in the culture solutions. The quantitative method for making the rapid determination of bone destruction quantity after the medicine-additives was discussed.

Mass production and high-grade application technologies of the heat-treated meat bone powder

Recently, accompanied with generation of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE), animal waste treatment, such as meat bone powder discharged massively from the slaughter field has been a social problem. In this study, cattle bone-originated apatite was prepared using the powder calcined in fluidized bed furnace by heating at high temperature in air, to clarify the physico-chemical properties and to apply for the support materials for microorganism. Utilizing the powder of cattle bone-originated apatite, porous apatite ceramics were fabricated and culture examination of the freeze-dried lactic acid bacteria was discussed.

The verification of test method for evaluation on self-cleaning performance of photocatalytic product.

Several different methods are proposed at present as a standard test method for self-cleaning performance of products to which photocatalysts are applied. An outdoor exposure test is performed at sites of heavy dirt load in addition to the verification of the operational ease and reproducibility of these test methods.

Development of domestic air condition system saving ventilation thermal energy by heat pump

In high thermal insulation housing, reduction of the ventilation load is strongly required, because about 50% of energy consumption for heating is ventilation load. In the meantime, further ventilatory volume has been required due to chic house countermeasure. Therefore, it is important and urgent to develop the system using ventilation waste heat that saves energy consumption and purifies indoor air.

Development of snow-sliding paint and those evaluations

In Hokkaido, snow and ice lump falling from roof of general housing or from arch divisions of building, bridge etc., result in accidents and traffic trouble every year. Though the method that heater is installed on the position where the snow falling is anticipated, the diffusion rate is low due to energy cost or new accidents caused by icicle. In this study, we develop coating materials for roof that makes roof surface slippery and utilize them for the outdoor structure to prevent snow falling accidents that are peculiar in cold region.

Investigation of methane utilization technique using gas hydrates and polymer electrolyte fuel cell

Methane hydrate formation and dissociation are studied. A new gas separation method for the biogas in investigated using the methane hydrate technique. Energy utilization and fuel cell cogeneration system are simulated for standard family use in Hokkaido. Performance of polymer electrolyte fuel cell in low temperature and biogas reforming process are also investigated.
